January Book Review: Get Rich Click

January’s book was Get Rich Click by Marc Ostrofsky.  I love this man and I love how he lays everything out.  I’m not going to write a long post about this book, but I will give you a brief overview.

This book is exactly what it says, it is the ultimate guide to teaching you how to make money online. It doesn’t give you just one option. It takes you through every option out there. It even gives you information on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Keywords and it goes as deep as showing you how to start a website and take payments on your website.

I believe that I was meant to read this book first this year, not just for the abundance of information that is in there, but because it gives so many free resources online as well.  This book is going to be my “Internet Marketing Bible” that I will refer to whenever I need help with online marketing from internet marketing to creating a retail store online.

This book is also great for beginners.  Are you a mom and want to find a way to stay home with your kids?  Start here.  Are you someone who just wants to bring in a few extra bucks to pay off bills faster?  Start here!

Stop Being The Audience In Your Own Life

Life is a road. There are some long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; crooked and straight paths. As we live, we are faced with many different roads. There are roads that lead to a life of singleness or marriage, roads that lead to fame and fortune or isolation and poverty. There are roads to success or failure, roads to trying and road where you just stand there.

Just like any road, there are corners, detours, and crossroads in life. Sometimes the hardest road is a  crossroad, I know it has been for me. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where they would go, which road will I take? What is the guarantee that the road I take is the right road? Would you take any road, or just stay where you are: in front of a crossroad?

No Guarantees.

You really don’t know where a road is going to take you, you aren’t guaranteed success, love and happiness. This is one of the most important things I have learned and I believe that you need to learn too. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness. Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that it would be returned. Money doesn’t guarantee happiness. Finding God doesn’t guarantee happiness, but what if you don’t do anything at all?  I can guarantee 5 years from now, you will be so disappointed that you didn’t try something because of fear or lack of money. True, there are so many outcomes, that could be out of your control.

Another Truth: The only thing you have power over is the decisions that you will make, and how you would act and react to each situation that presents itself.  When I started this blog, I got so many opinions and people trying to tell me I wasn’t doing something right.  You know what?  I didn’t listen.  Writing blog entries and helping people succeed make me happy, it gives me the tinglies knowing that I made someone smile or I made someone have their “AHA” moment.

Take The Risk And Make A Decision

Since life offers no guarantee and you would never know until you try, shouldn’t you at least try? It is definitely better than keeping yourself in limbo. Although it is true that one wrong turn could get you lost, but it is also true that one right turn could be an opportunity for an adventure and open even more roads. It is all a matter of what mindset you will be taking. You have the choice between being a lost traveller or a tourist of life. But please make sure when you do make a decision you look at all angles. While I think taking risks and doing something you wouldn’t ordinarily do, I also believe that taking risks is not about being careless. Use some of these checkpoints to help you make your decision.

  • Research and gather information. You cannot find the confidence to decide when you know so little about what you are faced with.  Ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who would I need to ask to help me?  When would I be able to start? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the possible questions to ask to know more about your situation. This is important. Oftentimes, the reason for no action is the last of research and information learned about what you want to do.
  • Recognize options and create them. What options do the situation give you? Sometimes the options are few or sometimes you have an abundance of options and opportunities. But what if you find no options? That is when you create your own options. You would be paving your road. Make your creative mind work. Write down all the ideas from the most complex to the most simple ideas. Don’t shoot it down, just write it all down and go with it. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the perfect fit!  What I would do is talk with a friend about your options.  Have them help you and be the reason and objective view for your ideas.  Hell, even have them help you brainstorm and come up with ideas. But make sure that you make the decision yourself in the end.
  • Weigh the pros/cons of every option.  That is pretty self-explanatory.
  • Trust yourself and make that decision. So you’ve looked at your options, weighed your pros/cons and really thought about it. Now it is time to really trust yourself, it is time for you to shine and go with your dreams.  Remember that there are no guarantees and wrong decisions are always at hindsight. So choose… decide… and really believe that you’re choosing the best option at this point in time for you.

Now that you have made a decision, be ready to face its consequences, whether its good or bad. It may take you to a place of promise or to a land of problems. But the important thing is that you have chosen to live your life instead of remaining a bystander or the audience to your own life. Whether it is the right or not, only time can tell. But do not regret it whatever the outcome. Instead, learn from it and know that you always have the chance to make better decisions in the future.

12 Books I Want To Read In 2012

I believe that you can’t get ahead without having mentors, even if they do not know it. I also believe that if you don’t read about things outside the box, you won’t learn anything new.  Each year I buy books and they just sit on my shelf.  This year, one of my goals for 2012 is to read 12 books.

Someone I am very impressed with is the Money Saving Mom, she talks about the books she reads each year.  You can find her list for 2012 if you click here.  And you can checkout my list below.

My January Book

It is the Get Rich Click book by Marc Ostrofsky.  I love this book. I have already read it, but I want to go through it again to remind me of my potential and what I can do online.  He is so honest and lays it all out from internet marketing to eBay to drop-shipping.  This book is truly amazing!

My February Book

Family First by Dr. Phil.  Sometimes you need a reality check with your family and how much you are there, even when you are there if that makes sense.  I want to create the best family environment for kids and for myself.

My March Book

The 4 hour workweek by Tim Ferris – This was my very first introduction to working at home and this man amazes me at what he is capable of.  I read the first half, but I know that I need to finish it if I want to accomplish my goal of setting up 85% of my business (minus the coaching) on automated processes and having other people do the work for me.  By the end of 2013 I will have this set up for me :)

My April Book

Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.  I have tried reading this book and then I just stop, on my business and internet marketing forums this is the book they recommend over any other book and I know that this will help me to be successful.

My May Book

Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain. – Another great book. He went from a gang member sleeping in a small little shed/house to owning a great network marketing company that I am a part of.  He is truly a remarkable person and even if you aren’t in to network marketing, his story on how he began will help you with your mindset.

My June Book

Uncertainty: Turning Fear and Doubt into Fuel for Brilliance –  I know around this time of year is when I will start to slack and so I will need a pick me up and this is a book that I believe will help everyone who is waiting on doing something because they are afraid to fail, afraid to succeed or just afraid.

My July Book

Secrets of The Millionare Mind – I love everything mindset and law of attraction and I believe that when you believe in yourself and believe that you are where you want to be (even when you aren’t) that things come to you eventually.

My August Book

The Happiness Trap By Russ Harris.  It just sounds happy! That is all.

My September Book

The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You  – This is great book from what I have heard and I am ready to excel at leadership this year so this one is on my list.

My October Book

Awaken the Giant Within : How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial Destiny!  by Anthony Robbins.  I love him, he is an awesome speaker and I just believe in myself when I read or watch him.

My November Book

Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.   He is truly motivating from his story about his dads and what he has learned about money.  I love how he talks about network marketing and views it in a positive light because so many people are uneducated, not just about network marketing but how to be successful outside of working a “regular American dream 9-5″ sort of  job.

My December Book

The Millionaire Fastlane – My internet marketing board says this is another great book to read if you want to be successful.

What books are you thinking about reading this year?  If you aren’t, thinking about reading any books, I highly recommend it.  Not only will I be reading these but Chad bought me the Twilight books and I want to get in some personal reading with that too :)

If you like this list please feel free to retweet or post it on your Facebook, I would really appreciate it.  Also, please feel free to share some of the books you will be reading this year too. You know I always love hearing from you!

Do As I Say, Not As I Do

I remember my parents telling me that when I was little.  I never really understood why they would say something like that, but I always did what they said because I didn’t want to get in trouble.

Thinking about that now I don’t understand still.  So if I am reading in between the lines, my parents and any parent for that matter, tells their kids to do as I say and not as I do.  But shouldn’t we as the parents be leading by example?  We can’t expect our kids not to do something that we are blatantly doing and then get mad at them when they do it.

That is exactly how it is with business and creating your business. If you are a coach or someone who consults with people, you have to lead by example. You have to show your customers and prospective customers that you know exactly what you are doing.  You can’t just say, “Do this because I tell you to?”  If you did that, I would ask for a refund and then gladly treat myself to Olive Garden :).In all honesty, I just want to get across that you need to be the example. Whether its with your family, friends or professional life, if you want people to listen to you, show them why, don’t just tell them.  Actions do speak louder than words.
